Mountains to Beach -  5 days of mountain bike stage racing from the roof of Australia to the surf at Narooma.
The Mountains To Beach is a 'tour' style event. Entrants, solo or pairs, will ride some 380km on a journey from the mountains to the beach - from Thredbo in the Snowy Mountains to Narooma on the South Coast of NSW. The majority of the riding will be in race stages that will test the full range of mountain biking skills - uphill, downhill, cross country, marathon and riding under lights. Whilst timed race stages will range in length from 10km to nearly 100km, there will also be a number of non-timed, non-race cruising stages along the way.

The finish will be a spectacular ride past Glass House Rocks on the beach at Narooma. An excellent spot for spectators.

The Australian War Memorial’s travelling exhibition, A Digger's Best Friend will be on display at Narooma Library.

A Digger's Best Friend offers an A to Z of animals in war - from mascots and messengers to creepy-crawlies. Animals are put to many uses in war. Sometimes they have jobs to do: the horses, camels, mules and donkeys used to transport soldiers and equipment, as well as carrier pigeons and tracker dogs with their special talents.

While animals are often used as mascots and pets, or as symbols on badges and flags, A Digger's Best Friend also looks at those unwelcome animals - such as insects, rats and wild creatures that make life in the field even more difficult and dangerous.

The exhibition has been developed with a young audience in mind, but visitors of all ages will enjoy its fascinating and moving stories.
